Today, the President of the Judicial Power Trade Union, Nemanja Đurić, met with Edith Zeller, representative and former President of the Association of European Administrative Judges (AEAJ).
During the meeting, special attention was devoted to the comparative analysis of the state of the judiciary in our two countries, Austria and Serbia, particularly regarding the material position and professional status of judicial staff and judges.
The discussion also addressed recent legislative developments in the Republic of Serbia.
In this context, the President of the Trade Union emphasized concerns regarding the package of judicial laws that entered into force without public debate and in violation of established procedures.
It was underlined that such legislative processes have seriously affected the independence of courts and the institutional autonomy of the judiciary.
On this occasion, a request was made for continued international professional support and monitoring, in the spirit of strengthening European legal standards, the rule of law, and institutional integrity.
The Judicial Power Trade Union remains committed to constructive international cooperation and dialogue aimed at strengthening judicial independence and protecting the professional and social status of employees in the judiciary.
